About the Founder

Stacey Howard is a New York-based copywriter and the founder of Write for Rights. Like most women, she lived her whole life with the expectation that women would always have the right to choose—until Roe was overturned. She was driven to act that day, and storytelling was the obvious choice. She began curating abortion stories on Instagram and Write for Rights was born.

Stacey created this platform as a safe space for people to share their abortion journeys. Her hope is that the narratives you will read here will humanize abortion and help eliminate the misconceptions that “pro-lifers” have spread throughout our society. Stacey aspires for these stories to reveal that abortion can pave the way for positive change in one’s life. In addition to curating these stories, Stacey is a contributor and is proud to share why abortion was the right choice for her.
